Maple Fibonacci
This sculpture is a wall-mounted relief carved from a single piece of Maple. It takes the form of a spiral shell, strongly reminiscent of a nautilus or ammonite, and visually echoes the Fibonacci or golden-ratio spiral found in nature.
The surface is deeply hand-carved with radiating grooves that fan outward from a small central opening, creating a sense of motion and growth. Each ridge is irregular and faceted, showing clear tool marks that emphasize craftsmanship and texture rather than smooth perfection.
