Path Less Traveled
This sculpture is a tall, vertical abstract form carved from Ambrosia Maple, emphasizing movement, balance, and organic flow.
The piece is composed of a stacked sequence of smooth, twisting volumes that spiral upward. Each segment curves and opens into hollowed spaces, creating a rhythm of positive and negative forms. The contours feel fluid—almost like a slow dance or a rising current—giving the sculpture a sense of motion despite its solid mass.
The natural wood grain plays a major role in the visual impact. Variations in color—from warm honey tones to deeper browns—follow the curves of the carving, accentuating its undulating surfaces. The polished finish allows light to glide across the form, highlighting edges and soft transitions while revealing the wood’s natural character.
Overall, the sculpture feels organic and contemplative, reminiscent of natural growth patterns such as twisting vines, flowing water, or a stylized human presence without being literal. It balances strength and elegance, inviting the viewer to move around it and experience how the form changes from every angle.

Burgundy Twist
This sculpture is a tall, vertically oriented abstract wood form composed of a continuous, flowing twist. It is carved from white oak, sandblasted and dyed with deep reddish-brown tones and dramatic, visible grain that wraps around the curves, emphasizing motion and growth.
The form rises from a solid base and unfolds upward in a series of smooth, ribbon-like bends and hollows. The negative spaces are just as important as the solid mass, creating a sense of lightness despite the density of the material. A darker accent line traces along the edges and contours, visually sharpening the curves and guiding the eye upward through the piece.
Overall, the sculpture conveys movement, balance, and organic rhythm—almost like a frozen wave, a spiraling vine, or a body in motion. The finish is polished and refined, highlighting craftsmanship while allowing the natural character of the wood to remain central.

Cascading Walnut
This sculpture evokes movement, balance, and organic growth—it could be interpreted as flowing water, wind-shaped rock, or a natural form evolving over time. It feels both dynamic and grounded, combining natural material with a contemporary abstract aesthetic. The negative spaces between the curves are just as important as the solid wood, allowing light and shadow to pass through. This creates visual depth and changes the sculpture’s appearance depending on viewing angle and lighting.
