This wall sculpture is a flowing, ribbon-like form carved from spalted ambrosia maple, featuring a series of looping curves that rise and fold back on themselves. The continuous band undulates horizontally, creating three prominent arches with oval openings that pierce through the form. These openings allow light to pass through, casting soft shadows on the wall behind and emphasizing the sculpture’s sense of movement and depth.
The warm, natural grain of the wood—marked by spalting patterns and ambrosia lines—adds visual texture and highlights the material’s natural character. A darkened edge traces the outer contour of the ribbon, accentuating its sinuous silhouette and giving the piece a crisp outline against the wall.
Overall, the sculpture evokes a sense of fluid motion, as if a strip of wood has been gently carved twisted and lifted into rhythmic waves, balancing elegance, craftsmanship, and organic beauty.

SOLD, This shell wall sculpture was carved from a large stump of white Ash. Inspired by the Fibonacci golden spiral. Textured, sandblasted and white-washed with a Satin finish, Dims: 33″ W x 20” H x 2″D.

This sculpture is a wall-mounted relief carved from a single piece of Black Walnut. The wood grain is a central visual element: layered bands of light and dark tones follow the spiral’s motion, enhancing the sense of rotation and depth. The carving is highly dimensional, with undulating ridges and recessed channels that create dramatic shadows, making the surface feel almost geological or fluid, as if the wood were flowing inward.
The spiral suggests multiple interpretations: a whirlpool, vortex, galaxy, or natural force such as wind or erosion. The central hole acts as a focal point, evoking ideas of origin, collapse, or infinite motion. The slightly irregular lower edge contrasts with the precise square format, reinforcing a tension between natural processes and human design.
Overall, the sculpture feels dynamic and immersive, combining organic texture with strong geometric framing, and invites contemplation of movement, time, and natural energy frozen in wood.

Wall sculpture carved from a beautiful piece of Eastern Red Cedar. Textured, sanded and bleached surface, finished with Danish Oil. Dims: 38” W x 14″ H x 2″D.

This wall sculpture was inspired by a scallop shell and carved from a beautiful piece of spalted pin oak. The form radiates outward from a central point, with deeply incised ridges creating a rhythmic fan pattern that echoes natural shell geometry. Rich variations in the wood grain accentuate the flowing contours, producing a sense of movement and depth. The irregular, undulating edge retains an organic quality, balancing precision craftsmanship with the spontaneity of natural growth. This is an end grain carving which is the most difficult orientation to pull off. It yields the best color and contrast between the sapwood & heartwood. It was sandblasted to showcase the grain and the medullary rays.
